From Valentine’s Day dinners to concerts to benefits, there are so many exciting events happening around Moore County this month. Here are a few we think you might enjoy!
February 9: 2018 Furever Yours Valentine’s Day Gala!
Enjoy a great night with a silent auction, dinner, drinks and dancing for a fabulous cause at Pinehurst No. 9.
February 10: The Boyd Library Saturday Children’s Program
Over 175 new Usborne and Kane Miller books will be on display and set up by themes for parents and children to enjoy as they rotate from one table to another. Each family will receive a book bag for children and parents to design as their very own Saturday Children’s Program book bag.
February 10: 2018 Chocolate Festival
The women of Pinehurst UMC will be hosting their fourth biennial Chocolate Festival where the goal is to provide a fun day for the community and to raise money for local charities that assist women and children in our community.
February 10: Delfeayo Marsalis Quintet at Heart ‘n Soul
Heart ‘n Soul of Jazz celebrates over 30 years of great jazz with a performance by the Delfeayo Marsalis Quintet. An annual fundraiser presented during Valentine’s Day weekend at Pinehurst Resort, Heart ‘n Soul of Jazz is the Arts Council of Moore County’s glitziest event.
February 13: Galentines Day at Wine & Design
Grab your girls and your wine and head over for a night of ladies celebrating ladies! No experience necessary, but pre-registration is required. The painting class is from 6:30-8:30pm. Please arrive by 6:15 to fix a glass of wine, set up your snacks, and mingle with friends. All classes are BYOB so bring your own food and drinks!
February 14: Valentine’s Day Hike
Tired of celebrating Valentine’s Day the traditional way? Do something new this year and join us for a hike! Single, happily coupled, or too young to care… all are welcome on this 1.5 mile hike.
February 14: Free Valentines Concert at Sandhills Community College
Directed by Rob Hill, the SCC Jazz Band will perform with Steve Biddle as the MC and guest vocalists Lynn Nelson and John Costantini. This event is free and open to the community.
February 15: Green Fields Sandhills Film Event: Farmers for America
Join Green Fields Sandhills for a screening of ‘Farmers For America’ at the The Fair Barn. This event is free and open to the public. Food from One Nine Drive’s food truck will be available for purchase.
February 17: Trail Sisters Hike at Weymouth Woods
Join Ranger Nancy Williamson for a 2-mile hike through Weymouth Woods. Stroll through several of the park’s trails, and explore the diversity of habitats in the longleaf pine forest. Meet at the visitor center at 1024 Fort Bragg Rd in Southern Pines. The hike should last 1 to 1.5 hrs and all ages are welcome!
February 17: Raising the Roof Variety Show to benefit the Sunrise Theater
The Raising the Roof fundraiser for The Sunrise began as a fundraiser to replace a roof 17 years ago and has become a yearly tradition. It will spotlight an array of local talent with acts that will appeal to people of all ages and tastes.
February 17 – 18: 2018 Young Musicians Festival
Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities is pleased to announce the 2018 Young Musicians Festival (YMF) for students in grades 4-12. The Festival provides an opportunity for music students from the counties of Cumberland, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, and Scotland, to perform before credentialed adjudicators from North Carolina schools of music.
